At this time of year we usually hear the Right screaming about a "Fake" war on Christmas. During the election Trump promise if he was elected the greeting would be "Merry Christmas" even though he could only force government agencies to do that, but this shows how many are confused about the meaning of Christmas.

Christmas isn't about greetings, trees, lights, malls or ridiculous arguments about the race of Christ or Santa (as if they are the same person), it is about love, peace, tolerance for fellow man. Look what the Angels were saying.

Luke 2: 10 - 14
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

On earth peace, good will toward men. Such peace and good will toward men, is not to be found in the hearts of Racists, Swindlers, not in the hearts of the selfish nor in the hearts of the greedy. Jesus spoke of His life which all Christians are called to emulate, saying,

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." Luke 4: 18 & 19

If anyone would support the Christmas spirit, let them who are wealthy give it all to the poor. Any politician who uses the name Christian must not be planning to cut Social Security nor Medicare and must leave the Affordable Care Act alone. Such men and women must raise the minimum wage to a livable income. They must treat all equally. If not, Jesus told about the Judgment of the Nations:

‘Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee, or thirsty and give thee drink? And when did we see thee a stranger and welcome thee, or naked and clothe thee? And when did we see thee sick or in prison and visit thee?’ Jesus will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’
Matthew 25: 34-40

Those waging war on Christmas are those who do not live the life which Jesus taught about. Merry Christmas to all and may you find the real meaning of Christmas.

I am outraged by how the Right tries to politicize Christmas and Christianity. The Far-Right has as a goal to divide. It wants to divide us religiously and politically with the soul goal of controlling us and weakening us.

I am in my sixties now and I can remember when I was a kid at my Grandparents house finding a large box full of Christmas cards. They dated back to the forties and thirties. The interesting thing is that those old cards was that they greeted people with Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

The use of the greeting "Happy Holidays" is nothing new and not an attempt to replace the greeting of"Merry Christmas." The Right has created a fake crisis in order to divide us. This makes the Right dangerous and unpatriotic. They must be stopped.
